Children's Ministries

But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” - Luke 18:16-17 (ESV)

Children are welcomed and valued at Good Samaritan. We believe they are a gift from God and we want to support parents as they seek to raise their children to love God and know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Nursery is available for children younger than 5 years old during the liturgy on Sunday morning. Lessons are bibically sound and nursery staff members are present.

Children's Church
is available for children for primary and elementary aged children during the first part of liturgy on Sunday morning.  The lessons are Biblically sound and generally based on the lectionary readings for the day.

Children's Choir meets weekly to prepare a muscial offiering. Their offering is shared once a month during Sunday worship. The choir is for school aged children. We are blessed to have a great group of kids who have a lot of fun together. New members are always welcome!

Funtime activities (for school aged children) are scheduled monthly on Saturdays or school district professional development days, and have plenty of crafts, games, and a meaningful message.  Watch for dates and times in The Missioner and on the events calendar.

For older children (or adults!), Confirmation Class is held as the need arises.  In Confirmation Class, the children learn the core beliefs of Christianity, leading to them deciding to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, where they own the baptismal vows made on their behalf, and receive grace from God through the Holy Spirit to help them keep the promise that they have made.

The youth of our parish are members of greeting and set-up teams, and act as servers in the liturgy. Our youth also play an important role in many Mission and Outreach projects in our community.
